I understand how it feels for you Jeff.

About 5-6 years ago we had talked about these issues for a period of time and some "managers" shut every other voice down other than theirs. Most of the team members that were supporting "one hand power" are now gone.

Both in team boards and public places; lots of opposite voices were raised but amazingly they were accused of bad attitude. Wow! Most of them then filed a complaint in the boards and resigned from membership. (Like me resigning from being a local moderator in 2007 just like so many other people did later.)

It's been years.. I hope it wouldn't go on like what [unknown] expressed which I wholeheartedly agreed at a time before these were openly talked.

Shame.. Hope.. :)

I truly hate to see this. I've found SMF about two years ago and liked it so well I convinced my high school alumni association to use it for their website. I'm just getting ready to upgrade to 2.0 RC2, but now wonder if I should and then, the thought of having to tell my alumni that the perfect forum solution I choose is about to die and we need to switch just makes my blood boil!

I also think this may be the reason why so many mods are not being updated to 2.0 RC2. The authors are afraid to commit to something that could fail.

I don't know anyone involved but has anyone come to the conclusion that perhaps it may not be about power, but about money; and that the usurper is just waiting to be offered cold, hard, cash to step down? Has anyone considered this approach? Depending on how much she wanted, if indeed this is the case, it may be THE solution to regaining the path intended for SMF.

After all the corporate greed we have witnessed this decade, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this isn't the case. Since this all seems like more like fiction, than truth, it would be great if she believed the philosophy that the character Spock from Star Trek did; "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few."

I sincerely hope it can be resolved because it is truly a wonderful application.

Thanks for the post, I've had no idea what has been happening, and nobody has told me. It's sad to see things like this happening with an otherwise good project :(

How come I never got the Team Agreement? Or does it only come up for current members, not SMF Friends?
