Home Office Pro 2 Approaches Beta Launch

After several months of development, Home Office Pro 2 appears to be launching February 1st, 2010. With a nice fresh new look, full use of current technologies and massively improved usability we’re really looking forward to seeing it in action with beta taking place shortly.

Oh SMF – What Happened To You?

Over seven years ago my friend Joseph Fung and I decided the web needed an alternative to the leading PHP forum package out there. We created a PHP fork of perl based YaBB and after working with what we called YaBB SE for a bit, we re-branded as SMF, or Simple Machines Forums, along with a new core of code written by a developer who called himself [Unknown]. After seven years…it’s crumbling…but why?

HoP 2 Alpha Launched!

After an extremely hectic few weeks culminating in a crazy weekend of work for me, we’ve gotten to a closed alpha release of Home Office Pro 2, the successor to Home Office Pro from Platinum Synergy.

My Project: Part 1 – What type of program?

The time has come for me to pick up a new project. It’s been several years since I started YaBB SE/SMF and I’ve been pretty bored as of late and dying for something new to start up and work those creative juices.
